When using Shorinji Kempo for self defense situations, one must follow the rule of Shushu Koju/Exclusively use it for defense and attack secondary, and Fusatsu Fugai/No kill or harm. Always take a defense position and never start an attack. Those who practice Shorinji Kempo must remember these rules. Shorinji Kempo is designed for Buddhist disciples to train self defense techniques, improve health, and deepen spirituality.
